Surgical Technologist II- Neurosurgery

This is a full-time, 36 hours/week, day shift position at Maine Medical Center in Portland. This role within Neurosurgery is on call with up to 150 hours in a 6-week time block.

About the role

The Surgical Technologist II is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• One year of experience required.
• Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $27.27 to $36.88 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).

Schedule

Full-time, 36 hours per week, day shift. On call with up to 150 hours in a 6-week time block.

Experienced CSTs are eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus. New Grads are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Eligible bonus candidates are Certified Surgical Technologists. Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible.
