About the role

Support surgical procedures, ensure patient safety, and participate in educational activities to advance skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a sterile environment during surgical procedures
• Pass instruments safely to the surgical team
• Participate in surgical counts to prevent retained items
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team and patients
• Follow all policies and safety standards
• Support peri-operative care for patients of all ages
• Demonstrate understanding of growth and development principles to provide age-appropriate care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• For grandfathered employees: LPN licensure

Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and patient safety
• Proficiency in surgical instrumentation
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
• Adherence to regulatory standards

Pay

Compensation ranges from $25.77 to $38.66 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
