Surgical Technologist II

About the Role

Support peri-operative patient care across all ages by maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments, participating in surgical counts, and collaborating with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to facilitate quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a sterile environment during surgical procedures.
• Correctly pass instruments to the surgical team.
• Participate in surgical counts to prevent retained surgical items.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Follow all policies and safety standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of instrumentation and growth and development principles.
• Collaborate with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and other staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Certification in surgical technology required; LPN licensure may apply for some employees.
• Ability to demonstrate appropriate care for patients of all ages.
