Surgical Technologist II

Responsibilities

• Ensure a sterile environment
• Safely pass instruments during surgical procedures
• Participate in surgical counts
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients
• Follow policies and safety standards
• Support peri-operative nursing care across all patient ages
• Engage in unit educational activities to maintain professional growth
• Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate quality patient care
• Maintain sterile fields
• Assist in surgical procedures
• Adhere to regulatory standards
• Contribute to team efforts and participate in ongoing training

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Accredited surgical technologist training
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• Demonstrated understanding of growth and development principles
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care
• LPN licensure required for grandfathered employees
