Surgical Scheduling Coordinator (Chesapeake Specialty Care)
About the role
The SS Coordinator, under direct supervision of the Clinical Lead, is responsible for surgical scheduling for multiple surgeons. Ensures all parties involved in the surgical case have the appropriate information (patient, surgeon, MOC, anesthesia, etc). Maximizes resources by eliminating gaps in the OR schedule and makes recommendations or changes to fully utilize surgical time, which will have a significant financial impact on surgical revenue.
Responsibilities
- Schedules surgeries in a timely manner.
- Manages the function of resources, efficiencies, utilization, and operations.
- Coordinates and communicates with patient, surgeon, MOC, and financial clearance to ensure all necessary information for scheduled cases is completed.
- Communicates with patients regarding all tests and appointments related to surgical procedures (e.g., CT scan, pre-op appointments).
- Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests, examinations, and procedures.
- Assures all patient correspondence (consent, orders, history, and physical, etc.) is transmitted to correct areas in a timely manner to streamline patient processing.
Requirements
- Surgical scheduling experience is required.
- Computer and technology proficiency is required.
Pay
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Specialty Care Networks’ salary range for this position. Some candidates may not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, including the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor, span of control, education, training, and other qualifications.
