This position is in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) under 10 USC 1599f and does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service. It is a supervisory/management role at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure, supporting the mission of the US Cyber Command.

Responsibilities

  • Persuade or influence others to gain concurrence on major issues affecting the supervised organization.
  • Plan and supervise the work of a unit with clearly defined programs and established organizational structure.
  • Develop work schedules and sequences of operations for assigned personnel to ensure deadlines are met and workflow is even.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; access to classified information may be necessary. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Must complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months per DoD 8140 policy series.
  • Designated as "Mission Essential"; incumbent may be required to report to work or relocate within the U.S. during local/national emergencies.
  • Subject to recall or call-back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Attention to Detail: Experience reviewing IT-related work or data and being asked by others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
  • Customer Service: Experience maintaining customer relationships, assessing IT needs, and developing or identifying tailored IT products/services.
  • Oral Communication: Experience briefing mid-level management and IT staff on system status, projects, or daily operations, including communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving: Experience identifying alternatives for complex IT-related issues by gathering information from multiple sources to provide potential solutions.

Qualifying Experience for GG-13: At least one year of experience demonstrating competencies necessary for immediate success, including leading teams in managing enterprise hardware/software and implementing strategic initiatives for on-premise or cloud infrastructure operations. Candidates must describe how they meet this experience in their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-13 grade level.
