SUPPORT NURSE - LPN - SUMMERSTONE HEALTH AND REHAB CENTER

Job Description

Aid in ensuring top-notch patient care by supporting nursing personnel (including charge nurse and Director of Nursing) on designated units during your assigned shifts. May be required to cover shifts as needed. Provide resident care according to the Nursing Practice Act, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Delegate tasks to non-licensed nursing personnel and oversee their performance. Contribute to quality assurance data collection and infection control efforts. Prepare and manage resident assessments, record orders, and notify physicians of changes or emergencies.

• Assist with lab requests and ensure accurate documentation of results.
• Participate in department meetings and round with doctors.
• Coordinate with rehab aides and other healthcare team members.
• Handle emergencies and perform CPR as necessary.
• Notify attending physicians of patient changes or illnesses.
• Implement and verify medical orders as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current, active license in North Carolina
• CPR certification annually
• Ability to make informed decisions about nursing and unit issues
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Compliance with personnel, department, and facility policies
• Physical capability to move medication and treatment carts
