SUPPORT NURSE - LPN - HIGHLAND HOUSE
Job Summary
Aid in ensuring top-quality patient care by supporting nursing personnel on designated units during assigned shifts. May be required to cover shifts as needed. Provide resident care according to the Nursing Practice Act, under Registered Nurse supervision. Delegate tasks to non-licensed personnel and monitor their performance. Collect and analyze Quality Assurance data. Implement infection control measures. Complete initial assessments for new admissions. Attend department meetings. Monitor decubitus ulcers and assess integumentary health. Report performance issues to RN. Document concerns and assist in emergency response. Perform CPR as needed. Assist with emergencies on other units. Notify physicians of changes and emergencies. Implement order changes as directed. Perform other general duties including doctor rounds, order verification, and coordination of the healthcare team.
Job Requirements
- High school graduate
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current, valid license in North Carolina
- CPR certified annually
- Knowledgeable in NC Board of Nursing practice acts
- Ability to make decisions about nursing and unit issues
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Compliance with personnel, department, and facility policies and procedures
- Ability to move medication, treatment, and other nursing equipment
