Job Responsibilities
- Assists shop foremen and crews in procuring supplies, including preparing shopping carts, obtaining quotes, comparing prices, coordinating purchasing activities, tracking purchase orders, deliveries, and vendor performance.
- Maintains procurement documentation and records using DOT-implemented software.
- Ensures all payments are made in a timely manner.
- Fulfills credit card purchases according to organizational policies.
- Retains and stores all purchasing documentation such as invoices and receipts.
- Monitors fuel inventory and usage, tracks fuel transactions, and maintains accurate electronic records.
- Reconciles fuel usage reports and manages fuel card issuance, collection, replacement, and recordkeeping.
- Distributes fuel cards to authorized personnel and maintains documentation of card assignments.
- Investigates discrepancies and assists with audits related to fuel purchases and consumption.
- Maintains accountability of supervisor fuel cards.
- Orders uniforms for the entire maintenance department and keeps detailed records of distribution.
- Orders, issues, and tracks Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all Laurens Maintenance employees.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the storage room area in accordance with OSHA safety and fire regulations.
- Issues parts and supplies to mechanics and shop personnel while maintaining accountability records.
- Maintains accurate and detailed inventory records for parts, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Conducts routine inventory counts and identifies discrepancies.
- Maintains inventory levels to ensure operational readiness.
- Enforces inventory control measures to minimize loss, waste, and theft.
- Operates shop software for all phases, including shop tickets, work orders, preventative maintenance, and posting of shop parts to tickets.
- Assists with emergency and inclement weather operations, including being available for extended working hours and 12-hour shifts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
- The physical demands for the essential functions include sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer.
- May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
- May be required to work outside normal business hours.
