Supplier Development Lead (Remote - Residing in the within the Midwest, USA area)

About the role
Pratt & Whitney, Midwest Regional Office is looking for a Supplier Development Lead who will drive operational excellence and process compliance within the supply base through on-site visits and assessments. You will help key suppliers resolve significant issues with business-wide impact by working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership. Additionally, you will coordinate and resolve company-wide risks and obstacles to ensure manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules align with customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Drive improvement of on-time delivery and quality performance at multiple suppliers.
- Develop and drive quality improvement plans.
- Coordinate root cause identification and corrective actions.
- Lead on-site assessments with Buyers, Quality, and Engineering teams to drive overall supplier improvement.
- Identify and remove significant barriers to the implementation of continuous improvement (CI) for suppliers.
- Evaluate key supplier performance and apply sustainable countermeasures to facilitate improvement.
- Direct production readiness assessments for New Product Introduction and rate increases, including capacity confirmation to ensure timely ramp-up to production volumes.
- Oversee monitoring of critical business-wide metrics and coordinate cross-functional work teams to increase the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
- Engage senior management of key suppliers to initiate major improvement programs and sustain high performance.
- Plan, organize, direct, and report all activities and matters relating to supplier performance.
- Evaluate supplier performance, management, capacity, and production readiness.
- Assess supplier qualifications, including training and certifications.
- Develop supplier development plans in collaboration with suppliers to achieve best performance.
Travel is required up to 80% of the time, primarily on-site at suppliers within the Midwest, USA area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field and 8 years of experience in Operations, Quality, and/or Continuous Improvement roles; or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must reside within the Midwest, USA area (IL, IN, IA, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, WI).
Qualifications
- Strong structured project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to initiate, lead, and sustain change activities at suppliers.
- CORE Professional (any track), Six-Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt, or LEAN certification.
- RTX SHA certified assessor.
- ITC experience.
- SAP experience using Procurement and Quality transactions.
Pay
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD – 251,600 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
