Supplier Development Lead (Remote - Residing in NY, NJ, or PA areas)
This position is remote-based (work from home) in the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania areas, with frequent travel required within this region. U.S. citizenship is required.
About the role
As part of Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems, you will assess suppliers' capabilities to perform and sustain performance through Supplier Health Assessments (SHA). You will engage suppliers to complete diagnoses in the Gemba, develop comprehensive gap closure plans, and provide weekly training and coaching on-site. Your role includes validating gap plans, monitoring progress, establishing leading performance indicators, and intervening to expedite deliveries or resolve quality issues. You will also lead Continuous Improvement events at supplier sites.
This role requires up to 80% travel within the New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania areas, with 20% of the time spent working from a home office.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments of supplier capability to perform and sustain performance through SHA.
- Engage suppliers to complete diagnoses in the Gemba and develop gap closure plans.
- Conduct weekly training and coaching on-site at suppliers to develop their teams.
- Follow up with Pratt & Whitney and supplier teams to validate gap plans and monitor progress.
- Establish leading indicators of performance and track them weekly on-site at suppliers.
- Intervene to expedite deliveries and resolve quality issues as required.
- Lead impactful Continuous Improvement events at suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field and 8 years of experience in Operations, Quality, and/or Continuous Improvement roles; or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must reside in the New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania area.
Qualifications
- Strong structured project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to initiate, lead, and sustain change activities at suppliers.
- CORE Professional (any track), Six-Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt, or LEAN certification.
- RTX SHA certified assessor.
- ITC or SAP experience, particularly using Procurement and Quality transactions.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Factors considered include role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
