Duties

The position serves as the Chief, Market Intelligence Division (DLA Energy-BPM).

Responsible for the management and direction of technical advice on energy industry and economic market conditions considered in DLA Energy materiel management program operations.

Manages division program responsibilities of Market and Research Analysis, Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), and Cost and Price market analyses studies to determine trends affecting petroleum/natural -- gas markets and long-range planning of the energy industry.

Manages comprehensive impact studies on future domestic development and foreign energy sources of fuel supply to DoD and Federal agencies.

Ensures analyses of production and capabilities contingency or emergency planning is current.

Directs and oversees coordination of subordinates acting as SPR points of contact with the Department of Energy on all SPR guidance related matters.

Qualifications

  • Basic Education Requirement: Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. or Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
  • Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  • Specialized Experience: Directs a program segment that provides technical advice on energy industry and economic market conditions; Performs research and cost/price market analyses to determine trends affecting petroleum/natural gas markets and long-range planning of the energy industry.; Oversees energy market research for determining trends affecting petroleum/natural gas markets and long-range planning of the energy industry for specific products and technological developments.
