Supervisor Lab PAA/Phlebotomist | Draw Stations - Gainesville | | Full Time | Days

Responsibilities

• Delivers excellent patient centered service in a medical office setting by performing routine and advanced venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
• Organizes and supervises the staff in the daily operation of the practice.
• Resolves complaints, issues and patient relations.
• Releases and/or places orders in electronic medical record and laboratory computer systems.
• Processes and distributes specimens and/or blood products.
• Prepares samples for transport to other laboratories.
• Answers telephones, checks-in patients, and maintains a comfortable wait experience for patients based on practice protocols and UF Health Physicians policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent. Requires one year of recent phlebotomy experience (clinical or hospital based preferred).
• Preferred: Graduation from a certified health-related program at high school level or above; Successful completion of Advanced Placement courses in the sciences at the high school level; Successful completion of science based studies at college level (minimum 3 credit hours); GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system.
• Initiative, multitasking ability, and responsibility-taking.
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
