Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the operations and patient care of designated areas. Serves as a clinical resource for staff and patients in the department. Functions as a staff nurse in the department as needed. Assumes managerial duties delegated by a manager. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Responsibilities

- Serve as a clinical resource for staff and patients.
- Function as a staff nurse as needed.
- Assume managerial duties delegated by a manager.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
- 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred.
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred.
- Prior management experience, including experience within change management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties.
Schedule
Full-Time | 40 hours/week, Nights
