About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join its collaborative treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling
- Work with a collaborative treatment team including Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses
- Identify and meet the clinical needs of the patient and assist in their overall well-being
- Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork
- Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups
- Create and update patient psychosocial and individualized treatment plans
- Address identified clinical/case management needs
- Perform at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact per week through individual and/or group counseling sessions
- Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and steps to recovery
- Obtain Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification
- Achieve goals in the best interests of the program and company while protecting proprietary data and rights
Qualifications
- Education/Licensure/Certification: Refer to the state-specific requirements for this position below
- Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required
