About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team. Founded over 30 years ago, they provide outpatient treatment centers specializing in Opioid Use Disorder.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling
- Work with a collaborative treatment team including Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses
- Identify and meet the clinical needs of patients and assist in their overall well-being
- Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork
- Document patient progress through counseling and interactions with groups
- Create and update individualized treatment plans within required time frames
- Address identified clinical/case management needs
- Perform at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact per week through individual and/or group counseling sessions
- Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps
- Collect Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification
- Act in the best interests of the program and company, protecting proprietary data and rights
Qualifications
- Education/Licensure/Certification: Refer to state-specific requirements
- Experience in substance abuse field preferred, but not required
