About the role

As a Sub-Regional Hygiene Mentor, you will coach and grow sub-regional hygiene mentors while partnering with Operations to identify priority hygiene initiatives and incentives. You will also lead the business of hygiene in your sub-region, building a strong regional culture among hygienists.

Responsibilities

• Practice clinical hygiene 16 hours per week
• Support the Regional Director of Operations by leading the business of hygiene in your sub-region
• Build and support a sub-regional hygiene mentor team
• Prioritize focuses and oversee hygiene initiatives and incentives
• Ensure each newly hired hygienist receives a world-class onboarding experience
• Collaborate with other RHMOs and hygiene leadership team
• Liaise between the hygienists in your region and the operational business partners
• Maintain a high focus on managing patient periodontal health according to doctors' Treatment Plan for Predictability guidelines while growing the business of hygiene in the region
• Participate in other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Current Heartland Dental supported hygienist
• Valid dental hygienist license and an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in dental hygiene
• Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening, and medical history documentation
• Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person once conditions allow) periodically throughout the year
• CPR Certification
• Mastery level proficiency in clinical skills to include Velscope or Vizilite Pro, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems
• Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ oral health

Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing
• Able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
