About the Role
As a Regional Hygiene Mentor of Operations, you will ensure your hygiene colleagues are connected to world-class education, enabling them to provide patients with the care they need, desire, and deserve. This unique role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.
- Coach and grow sub-regional hygiene mentors while partnering with Operations to identify priority hygiene initiatives and incentives.
- Practice clinical hygiene 16 hours per week while supporting the Regional Director of Operations by leading the business of hygiene in your sub-region.
- Build a strong regional culture among hygienists in collaboration with the Regional Mentor of Operations.
- Identify, build, and support a sub-regional hygiene mentor team.
- Prioritize focuses and oversee hygiene initiatives and incentives.
- Ensure each newly hired hygienist receives a world-class onboarding experience.
- Collaborate with other RHMOs and the hygiene leadership team through individual and group meetings (in-person or virtual).
- Serve as the liaison between hygienists in your region and operational business partners to maintain a high focus on managing patient periodontal health and growing the business of hygiene.
- Other projects as assigned.

- Ensure adherence to doctors’ Treatment Plan for Predictability guidelines.
- Manage and grow the business of hygiene in your sub-region.
Qualifications
- Current Heartland Dental supported hygienist.
- Valid dental hygienist license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in dental hygiene.
- Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening, and medical history documentation.
- CPR Certification.
- Mastery-level proficiency in clinical skills, including Velscope or Vizilite Pro, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems.
- Desire to continue learning and growing clinical skills to meet patient needs.
Requirements
- Availability to attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
