Retail Lead
The Retail Lead is responsible for managing operations of one or more retail locations including training, accountability, visual merchandising, inventory controls, sales associates duties and quality controls.
- Supervisory Duties
- Assist with the daily supervision of the Retail and Rentals hosts and any other assigned departments
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Story Land’s core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and rental positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Assist with onboarding and training hosts on how to safely and successfully perform their jobs
- Affirm that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with New Hampshire law
- Affirm that hosts are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
- Monitor cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of store areas including exteriors
- Manage inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
Departmental Duties
- Welcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locations
- Perform opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including daily cleanup
- Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory from other shops
- Proactively communicate inventory needs to Retail Manager before items are sold out
- Collaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product sales
- Ensure hosts are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
- Monitors cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures
- Ensure merchandise and retail supplies are well stocked and organized
- Maximize unit visual merchandising standards
- Manage inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls
- Reports maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Frequent stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to use a step ladder in a safe and proper manner
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditions
- Some exposure to dust and chemical cleaning agents
- Frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
