Stormwater Construction Foreman

About the role

Apex Companies is seeking a Stormwater Construction Foreman to lead stormwater infrastructure projects. This role involves constructing and repairing critical stormwater infrastructure, operating advanced construction equipment, and traveling regionally to work on impactful projects across the central states.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair essential underground utilities, concrete structures, and stormwater basins.
• Operate heavy machinery such as skid loaders, excavators, and dozers, as well as hand-held and power tools.
• Travel regionally (85% or more) to project sites, exploring new locations while contributing to project success.
• Document field observations to drive continuous improvement and ensure project excellence.
• Uphold the highest safety standards on every project to protect yourself and your team.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and staff effectively.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of underground wet utility construction experience.
• Prior experience with stormwater infrastructure, concrete structures, rebar and concrete finishing, underground piping, and detention/retention basins.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., Skid Loader, Mini-Excavator).
• Frequent out-of-town regional travel (85% or more).
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform manual labor, lift and carry 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and under inclement weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening (drug-free workplace).

Pay

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-Time, 40-55 hours per week with regional travel required (typically 85% or more).
