About the role

The Store Manager oversees all store operations, including staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff to maintain proper staffing levels and performance standards.
  • Manage daily store functions such as opening, closing, and cash handling to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Analyze sales, profitability, and inventory data to identify business trends and control expenses.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, presented, and maintained according to company standards.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, control damages, markdowns, and facilitate cycle counts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and foster a safe, organized shopping environment.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and legal compliance, completing all required documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret documents, perform basic math, and manage cash procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations.
  • Experience in hiring, counseling, and terminating employees with legal compliance.
  • Good organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred: high school diploma or equivalent; management experience in retail.
  • Bi-lingual skills may be advantageous in certain locations.

Physical & Work Environment

The role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional climbing. The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise, and may include exposure to outside weather conditions.
