About the Role
Responsible for managing store operations, including staffing, training, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. Ensures effective planning and execution of processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, and presentation to meet sales and profitability goals.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, train, evaluate, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws.
- Provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and address employee development or disciplinary needs.
- Make recommendations for employee pay and advancement.
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures, ensuring safety, security, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, control expenses, and minimize shrinkage.
- Manage inventory levels through ordering, cycle counts, and merchandise presentation.
- Maintain accurate records, enforce cash handling and security policies, and ensure a clean, safe shopping environment.
- Lead customer service efforts and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and managing staff, with a preference for retail management experience.
- Ability to solve problems and adapt to limited standardization situations.
- Preferred bilingual Spanish skills for some locations.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional climbing.
- Fast-paced environment with moderate noise, occasional outdoor exposure, and driving to various store locations as needed.
