Dollar General · Pittsburg, MO · 1 mo ago
On-siteBusiness DevelopmentFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: headings

for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. The posting includes: Job Description (intro), Job Responsibility (list of duties), Working Conditions (physical demands), Job Qualifications (abilities, knowledge, education/experience, license/certification), About Us (company overview), About The Team (benefits). No explicit Pay or Schedule. So we should include sections: About the role (maybe the intro paragraph?), Responsibilities, Requirements (maybe combine qualifications?), Qualifications? Actually we have both Qualifications and Requirements. The posting has "Job Qualifications" which includes abilities, knowledge, education/experience, license/certification. Could treat that as Qualifications. Requirements maybe not separate; we could combine. But we need to follow instruction: use headings for those categories if content exists. We have content for Responsibilities, Qualifications (including education/experience, license), Benefits (from About The Team). Also maybe "About the role" could be the introductory paragraph describing the role. That seems appropriate. We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID. Remove boilerplate like EEO etc. Not present. We need to preserve all substantive information. So we need to include all bullet points from responsibilities, working conditions, qualifications, benefits. We need to use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and

    for prose. Thus:

    About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in the effective implementation of all store processes including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This position fosters interactive development of an external candidate for the Store Manager role and is to be held for a limited period.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
    • Assists with store merchandising by facilitating and/or participating in staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensuring that merchandise is presented according to established practices and store manager direction; and properly utilizing merchandise fixtures, signing and pricing of merchandise.
    • Assists in all aspects of inventory management (including proper execution of damages, markdowns, register scanning, paperwork and facility controls); prepare and conduct inventories.
    • Follows prescribed ordering practices to ensure the meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets.
    • Provides superior customer service leadership.
    • Acts as a role model by following Company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, SOP manual and Company communications.
    • Participates in store opening and closing activities.
    • Ensures the safe deposit of all Company funds in the designated bank.
    • Assists in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control and adherence to Company security practices and cash control procedures.
    • Assists in the maintenance of clean, well-stocked stores; provide a safe environment for customers and employees.
    • Operates store in store manager’s absence.
    • Reviews operating statements to identify business trends (including sales, labor, profitability, and inventory turn), expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
    • Completes all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.

    Working Conditions

Frequent walking and standing. Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise. Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers. Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds. Occasional climbing (using step ladder) up to heights of six feet. Regular driving own vehicle to attend meetings, to other Dollar General stores, and to make deposits. Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Occasional exposure to cleaning solutions. Occasional exposure to slippery floor surfaces. May be exposed to extreme cold in freezers.

But Working Conditions is not one of the prescribed headings list. The list includes About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Working Conditions is not in that list. Should we omit it? The instruction: "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It says e.g., meaning examples, not exhaustive? It says "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." Likely they expect only those headings. But we need to include all substantive information. If we omit Working Conditions, we lose info. However we could incorporate Working Conditions into Responsibilities or Qualifications? Not appropriate. Maybe we can treat Working Conditions as part of Requirements? Not really. Could we create a section "Requirements" and include both qualifications and working conditions? The heading list includes Requirements. Could put working conditions under Requirements? Might be okay but not ideal. However the instruction says "include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it". It does not forbid adding other headings beyond the examples, but the examples are given. It says "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." That suggests those are the allowed headings. So we should map content to those headings. Thus we need to fit Working Conditions into either Requirements or Qualifications. Perhaps Requirements includes physical demands? Usually requirements include qualifications and experience. Working conditions could be under Requirements as "Physical Requirements". But we must not invent headings not in list. We could use "Requirements" heading and include both qualifications and working conditions as subpoints? But we need to use
    • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. So we could have a
under Requirements containing both qualification statements and working condition statements. However that mixes different types. Might be okay. Alternatively we could treat Working Conditions as part of "Qualifications"? Not really. Better: Use "Requirements" for education/experience/license, and "Skills" for abilities like math, communication, etc. But we have many ability statements. Let's parse the content: Job Qualifications section includes: - Ability to read and interpret documents... - Ability to perform mathematical calculations... - Knowledge of cash handling procedures... - Ability to learn and perform cash register functions... - Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices. - Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices. - Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices... - Proficient in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. - Proficient in organization skills with attention to detail. - Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists. - Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position. Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred. - License/Certification Required: Valid Driver’s License Thus we could split: Qualifications (knowledge/abilities) and Requirements (education/experience/license). But the heading list includes both Qualifications and Requirements. So we can use both. Thus:

        Qualifications

        • Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
        • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
        • Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
        • Ability to learn and perform cash register functions, including those necessary to generate reports.
        • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
        • Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
        • Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.
        • Proficient in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
        • Proficient in organization skills with attention to detail.
        • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standardization exists.

        Requirements

        • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
        • Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
        • Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.
        • Valid Driver’s License required.
Now Working Conditions: we need to place somewhere. Could be under "Requirements" as physical requirements, but we already used Requirements for education/experience/license. Could add a subsection? Not allowed to add extra headings. Could incorporate Working Conditions into Responsibilities? Not appropriate. Could add a

under Requirements after the list? That would be prose, okay. The instruction: Use

for prose. So we could add a

after the list under Requirements describing working conditions. That would keep the heading Requirements and include both education/experience and working conditions as prose/list. But we already used

for list; we could add a

after the list. That is acceptable. Thus:

          Requirements

          • High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
          • Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
          • Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.
          • Valid Driver’s License required.

Now Benefits: from About The Team: "Dollar General is pleased to offer a wide range of benefit programs designed to care for the physical, mental and financial well-being of our employees and their families. Available benefit programs include health insurance coverage options, a variety of supplemental programs, 401(k) Savings Plan, paid sick leave (where required by law), vacation, paid maternity and parental leave, and many more. Eligibility and waiting period requirements may apply. See careers.dollargeneral.com/benefits for additional details." We should include Benefits section with list of benefits. Thus:

          Benefits

          • Health insurance coverage options
          • A variety of supplemental programs
          • 401(k) Savings Plan
          • Paid sick leave (where required by law)
          • Vacation
          • Paid maternity and parental leave
          • Many more benefit programs

Eligibility and waiting period requirements may apply. See careers.dollargeneral.com/benefits for additional details.

Now About the role: we already have intro paragraph. We should not include "About Us" or "Company Overview" or "About The Team" as headings because they are not in the list; we already used Benefits for the team benefits. The rest of About Us (mission, company overview)
