Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service, serving as a developing leader for the Store Manager position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of merchandise.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and a secure environment for customers and staff.
• Support store financials by monitoring sales, expenses, and inventory trends.
• Operate store functions during manager absence and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model in policy compliance.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety procedures.
• Strong communication, organization, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift 40–55 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Some travel may be required, with limited overnight stays.
