Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This limited-term role prepares candidates for the Store Manager position, focusing on developing leadership skills and operational understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assisting recruitment and staffing activities.
• Participating in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation according to store standards.
• Supporting inventory management, including damage handling, markdowns, and conducting inventories.
• Ensuring product availability and proper ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Providing excellent customer service and acting as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Participating in store opening and closing, cash handling, and secure deposit procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
• Assisting with financial oversight by reviewing sales, expenses, and inventory trends.
• Completing all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret documents, perform basic math, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety protocols.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred.

Experience & Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Working Conditions
