Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role serves as a developmental position preparing candidates for the Store Manager role, with responsibilities including recruiting, participating in store setup, and ensuring store safety and cleanliness. Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional use of ladders and driving are required. The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise, and some outdoor exposure and travel are involved.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Manage merchandising, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Handle inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Support in achieving in-stock targets and maintaining store appearance.
• Deliver excellent customer service and uphold company policies.
• Participate in opening and closing store activities.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling, deposits, and security practices.
• Supervise store operations in the absence of the manager.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Familiarity with safety, security, and legal compliance in retail.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience, especially in supervisory roles, is advantageous.
