Store Manager Candidate

About the role

This position supports the Store Manager in daily store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. It involves assisting with recruiting, maintaining store presentation, executing inventory controls, and ensuring store safety and cleanliness. The role also requires reviewing sales and expense data, completing documentation, and acting as a store leader in the manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Support merchandising efforts through staging, stocking, and pricing.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure excellent customer service and store presentation.
• Follow cash handling and security procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Maintain a safe environment and proper store sanitation.
• Review operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to outside weather and moderate noise.
• Occasional travel for store visits and meetings.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Retail experience, especially external candidates, is advantageous.

Skills

• Ability to interpret documents, perform math calculations, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and safety policies.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to various situations.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred for some locations.
