Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, managing inventory, stocking, and handling store operations. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and onboarding new team members.
• Contribute to merchandising, staging, stocking, and pricing merchandise in line with store standards.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and conducting inventories.
• Ensure product availability by following ordering procedures.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold company policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities, handle store funds securely, and maintain cashier accountability.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
• Operate the store in the absence of the Manager and review financial reports to identify business trends.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of retail experience is preferred for external candidates.

Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to varied situations.
• Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) may be preferred at some locations.

Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment like scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise, occasional exposure to weather, and some travel with limited overnight stays.
