About the role
The DOE/NNSA Office of Stockpile Management (NA 12) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. NA 12’s mission areas include Stockpile Sustainment, Production Operations, Stockpile Modernization, Nuclear Enterprise Assurance, and Stockpile Services. These functions collectively support the ongoing stewardship and modernization of the nation’s nuclear deterrent.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership across multiple functional teams, managers, and professional staff with accountability for performance and results.
- Develops and tracks SRNS performance milestones.
- Develops presentations and communiques for stakeholders detailing funding requirements, scope, and schedule.
- Develops five-year and annual budgets.
- Understands variances between current year budget vs. actuals.
- Monthly and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Interfaces with operations and engineering to understand facility scope.
- Coordinates resources, timelines, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet quality standards and drive overall success.
- Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Q Clearance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in all forms with the ability to convey complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of budgeting and budget management.
- Strong business acumen.
- Broad experience in scientific or technical area including operations and engineering.
- Program Management experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline or non-Technical Bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience in technical role.
- Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered.
Skills
- Knowledge in area of expertise to analyze information; design and develop new approaches, methodologies and processes.
- Provide guidance to others as a project manager using technical expertise.
