Staff Nurse - PICU

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family‑centered care for diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care within their scope of practice.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including precepting new staff.
• Ensure quality improvement, safety, and evidence‑based practices.
• Support collaboration with providers to deliver efficient, high‑quality, patient‑centered care, especially for pediatric patients.
• Engage in systems‑based practice, informatics, and technology duties, with potential temporary assignments across the organization.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license and Basic Life Support certification required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or in progress within five years of hire.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Experience working with various organizational levels; healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) preferred.

Schedule

Part‑time, night shift (7 pm – 7:30 am), 24 hours per week. On‑site role.
