About the role
The Staff Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. They assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches for individuals or groups of patients.
Responsibilities
- Delivering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety care across age groups
- Demonstrating leadership
- Performing patient‑centered, quality improvement, safety, and evidence‑based practices
- Supporting provider staff
- Fostering collaboration
- Utilizing informatics and technology systems
- May be temporarily assigned within the hospital based on patient needs
- Mentor and precept new staff members
Qualifications
- BSN (or obtaining one within five years)
- RN licensure in Ohio
- BLS certification
- At least one year of healthcare experience
- Pediatric cardiac critical care experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records and healthcare software advantageous

Schedule
