Job Summary

A Staff Development Specialist assesses learning needs and designs, implements, and evaluates educational activities promoting the knowledge, skills, and competencies of nurses and other patient care team members. They also develop, implement, and monitor the orientation program for all new nursing personnel.

About the Role

This role requires a Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Ohio, a BSN degree (MSN preferred), and minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience. Experience in coordinating projects, group presentations, and staff development is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with group facilitation skills, are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses learning needs and designs, implements, and evaluates educational activities
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the orientation program for all new nursing personnel
  • Coordinates and facilitates training sessions
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and makes necessary adjustments
  • Maintains accurate records and reports on training activities

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience
  • Experience in coordinating projects and group presentations
  • Experience in staff development
  • Knowledge of principles of adult learning

Schedule

The shift is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
