Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $24.48 - $27.60

Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Staff Development Specialist position (K0241832) is responsible for writing documents and preparing presentations based on staff and provider surveys, analyses, and the training desires of KDHE DHCF leadership. Develops digital, written, and/or oral presentations for various venues. Prepare material for use for staff and provide training as well as for use at stakeholder meetings. Make presentations and/or coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure delivery of needed trainings. Works with education contractors to develop and facilitate courses and update existing materials.

  • Assesses DHCF/Medicaid staff and providers training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or subject matter experts to ensure compliance with state and federal Medicaid policies, regulations, and statutes. Advises Division Leadership on needed training for staff and Medicaid providers.
  • Plans, delivers, and evaluates training for DHCF staff and providers. Recommend policies and procedures surrounding DHCF training requirements.
  • Organizes, plans and oversees diverse meetings and conferences to meet the needs of staff and providers.
  • Covers coordination with contracted Managed Care Organizations to ensure state-provided training complements that are developed and provided by MCOs.
  • Serves as backup to Training Coordinator as needed.
  • Prepares behavioral learning objectives and assist other presenters in development of such objectives.
  • Creates and markets a training schedule designed to provide multiple opportunities to staff for attendance as well as providing technical training to state staff, providers and community groups.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School, GED
  • Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
  • Minimum Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Articulate Storyline, or similar SCORM creation software. 2 years of experience in creating courses, assessments, training, curriculum development. Bachelor's Degree or related experience in education, e-learning, presentation design.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Proofreading, editing, attention to detail. Analytical Skills. Exceptional organizational skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously. Experience with OneDrive and SharePoint. General Medicaid program knowledge. Experience with gamification in educational/training environment. Experience designing, building, managing e-Learning content.
