SRPPF Technical Writer

About the Role

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) is seeking a Procedures professional to develop and document procedures and electronic rounds (eRounds) for program and facility operations using organizational processes and software. This role ensures procedures include flow down of requirements from Department of Energy Orders, federal regulations, and consensus codes and standards to comply with contractual requirements. The position is expected to split time 50/50 between administrative duties and technical writing duties.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

• Process Commissioning documentation to EPFM
• Coordinate and schedule Commissioning meetings with other interfacing work groups
• Assist in review and formatting of Commissioning documentation
• Assist in writing technical documents for Commissioning
• Submit Commissioning documentation for Interdisciplinary Document Review through appropriate workflow program
• Take direction from Commissioning Management to facilitate Commissioning objectives and goals
• Manage multiple Technical Writing activities with varying deadlines; set deadlines under pressure and coordinate with other departments
• Develop work instructions and procedures through collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance (active DOE clearance is not initially required; selected candidate will be notified when to apply based on specific work assignments)
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field with some experience is a plus; five years of experience (YOE) is preferred, OR Master's degree in relevant field with two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
• Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
• Evening and weekend hours depending on construction/Commissioning schedule
• Able to easily navigate on foot an operating construction site daily to include: walking, climbing, stooping, standing in a large-scale construction project environment; climbing stairs and scaffolding, walking through uneven and rough terrain, and entering confined spaces (as necessary)
• Performing essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with administrative duties (scheduling meetings, processing paperwork, ordering supplies, tracking and coordinating required training) is highly preferred
• Technical Writing certification is preferred
• PPA Certification or ability to obtain is preferred
• BS/BA in Technical Communications, English, Business or related discipline is preferred OR Associates Degree and 1-2 years related experience OR 3+ years directly related experience
• Education and/or experience in a technical field desirable

Pay

Salary range: $73,608 - $103,224 (range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role; actual offers may vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors).
