Sr. Product Marketing Manager – Consumer - (HYBRID - ACTON, MA OR SAN DIEGO, CA)
About the role
The Sr. Product Marketing Manager – Consumer Marketing is tasked with establishing the global strategic direction for consumer marketing of next-generation Omnipod Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) systems. This role involves deeply understanding the experiences of individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their caregivers to develop compelling value propositions and marketing strategies. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, the manager collaborates cross-functionally with various teams, including Product Management and Market Research, to ensure effective product positioning and consistent messaging.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the global strategic direction for consumer marketing for next-generation Omnipod AID systems
- Uncover insights, pain points, and unmet needs for people living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and for caregivers (parents, spouses, family members, and loved ones)
- Translate insights into compelling benefits, reasons to believe, and clear value propositions
- Develop global baselines for product positioning, messaging, claims, and consumer-facing marketing materials
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and differentiation across touchpoints and geographies
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Market Research/Insights, Regional Downstream Consumer Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and other stakeholders
- Drive alignment on messaging, feature prioritization, and commercial strategy across global and regional teams
- Support regional marketing teams on the localization of consumer-focused materials, campaigns, and toolkits, based on the global baselines
- Support global GTM planning for next-gen AID launches
- Own decisions related to product messaging, positioning and targeting for consumers
- Lead creative direction for toolkit and asset development
Required skills and competencies
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Ability to lead a creative agency in the creation of a single-minded, innovative marketing messaging roadmap customized to different touchpoints to effectively convey the value proposition for each target
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentations to executive audiences
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to engage and lead others to advance new ways of thinking
Education and experience
- At least 10 years' experience in consumer product marketing strategy and execution, ideally within medical device, pharmaceutical and/or diabetes industry
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
Pay
Annual base salary range: $154,400.00 – $231,575.00. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
