Key Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for employees and operational leadership regarding HR-related inquiries.
- Investigate workplace concerns, grievances, and policy violations; provide sound recommendations and action plans to leaders.
- Coach leaders on effective team management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, retention strategies, and communications to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Build a strong employer brand in the local community through donations, networking, and outreach efforts.
- Lead hourly and salary staff recruitment for facility.
- Partner with department leaders to forecast workforce needs.
- Conduct new-hire orientations, process I-9s, and coordinate comprehensive onboarding programs.
- Develop strategies to remain a union-free environment.
- Build strong relationships with staffing agencies to ensure facility is adequately staffed.
- Ensure strict adherence to employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, Wage & Hour) and company policies.
- Lead HR training programs and participate in HR audits.
- Lead leaves of absence.
- Lead employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.
- Lead payroll and attendance systems for salary staff.
- Lead attendance system for hourly staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing, food and beverage, or fast-paced environment.
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of federal and state labor laws.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole, preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and business acumen. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to foster a positive work environment. Ability to coach and mentor both front-line employees and leadership staff.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce and MS Office Suite.
