Sr. HR Generalist
Job Summary
Provides full cycle human resources support to internal client groups. Consults and acts as a strategic advisor to the leadership team to drive human resource related objectives. Drives alignment between business and people strategies. Ensures uniformity of HR Practices aligned with department and company objectives. Participates in implementing HR policies, procedures, and programs and day-to-day administration of HR processes with client groups. Partners with legal team to ensure compliance with legal regulations, varied by state.
Primary Responsibilities
- Builds relationships with employees and managers to support company retention strategies
- Provides high-quality advice and service to management on employee relations and performance management issues, including managing employee separations and exit interviews
- Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating and implementing solutions and coaching and counseling managers and employees
- Supports the broader HR team in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience, including working cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management, and other HR specialist functions to help meet the needs of the business
- PARTNERS WITH THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE POSSIBLE CONFLICTS RELATED TO EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES
- IDENTIFIES TRAINING NEEDS FOR BUSINESS GROUPS, INCLUDING ASSESSES AND EXECUTES INDIVIDUAL COACHING OPPORTUNITIES
Required Skills / Capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, strong analytical and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Computer savvy with extensive experience with MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Education and Experience
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
- PREFERRED: PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
