Requirements
- Licensure in the State of Illinois for Speech-Language Therapy
- 1-2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Therapist
- Positive attitude and a team player
- The belief that your skills can make a profound and lasting impact on the children you work with
Responsibilities
- Address client’s needs and skill development
- Select and adapt appropriate speech therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches
- Direct the process of interventions
- Apply interventions to maximize performance in all areas of need
- Provide parent caregiver education
- Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short-term treatment goals
- Collect data and document processes followed
- Complete notes and paperwork in a timely manner
Skills
- Proven working experience as a speech therapist
- Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy
- Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
- Familiarity with speech therapy evaluation tools
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities and diagnoses including Autism
- Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
- Professional behavior
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
