Requirements

  • Licensure in the State of Illinois for Speech-Language Therapy
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Therapist
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • The belief that your skills can make a profound and lasting impact on the children you work with

Responsibilities

  • Address client’s needs and skill development
  • Select and adapt appropriate speech therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches
  • Direct the process of interventions
  • Apply interventions to maximize performance in all areas of need
  • Provide parent caregiver education
  • Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short-term treatment goals
  • Collect data and document processes followed
  • Complete notes and paperwork in a timely manner

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a speech therapist
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy
  • Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
  • Familiarity with speech therapy evaluation tools
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities and diagnoses including Autism
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
  • Professional behavior
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
