Job Summary
To provide leadership and oversight to the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) department. This role balances clinical expertise with administrative and team leadership, ensuring the highest quality of communication and feeding services for students with medically complex needs.
Responsibilities
- Developing caseload and staffing ratios annually to ensure quality services and documentation
- Making sure all documentation is up-to-date and follows HMS standards and best practices
- Creating and updating policies and procedures for the Speech Department
- Sharing important information with the team and planning how to implement new processes
- Maintaining and suggesting necessary equipment and supplies to the supervisor
- Managing schedules and timesheets for Speech Department staff members
- Collaborating with school-wide leadership to develop and refine policies related to IEP implementation, communication and feeding protocols, and therapeutic best practices
- Representing the Speech Therapy Department in leadership meetings and serving as a liaison between therapists, administrators, and external stakeholders
- Performing and documenting pre-admission evaluations
- Participating in multidisciplinary discussions of current, future, and non-enrolled students
- Maintaining a reduced student caseload
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree from an accredited school in Speech/Language Pathology
- Pennsylvania certification: Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) from ASHA
- Licensure or equivalent with intent to obtain
- Five years of clinical experience, with at least two years of supervisory experience, required

- Clinical experience with students with complex communication needs who use AAC

Schedule
Typically works Monday to Friday 8am-4:00pm with the ability to Flex your schedule
Pay
Range: $76,079 to $87,784, qualifications and experience will assist in determining salary offer
