Supervisor, Speech Therapy

Job Overview

The Supervisor, Speech Therapy plans and implements treatment in coordination with the multi-disciplinary team. They supervise therapists, clinical assistants, and mobility team as appropriate. They assist the Director to manage the daily clinical operations of the Speech Therapy service and ensure the department is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
• NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Member of ASHA
• AHA BLS Provider Certification
• 3-5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting
• Evidence of continuing education is necessary to meet licensing requirements
• Thorough knowledge of the theoretical principles and clinical application employed in the diagnosis and management of various communication and swallowing disorders
• Tact, initiative, and judgment in the performance of duties

Certifications and Licenses Required

• NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible
• Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate
• Member of ASHA
• AHA BLS Provider Certification
