About the role
Volunteer-driven, non-profit organization Special Olympics is looking for passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable volunteers to join as bocce coaches for local athletes. As a Special Olympics coach, you will help athletes learn and improve their skills by bringing game knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude to each practice, event, and competition. You will enrich the lives of athletes by building physical and social skills and instilling self-confidence.
Responsibilities
- Teach and improve bocce skills for local Special Olympics athletes
- Bring enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude to practices, events, and competitions
- Attend the local state competition hosted within the Charlotte Region on November 12th–14th
Requirements
- Knowledge of bocce (training provided)
- At least 18 years old to be a certified coach
- A few extra hours each month to help athletes learn, compete, grow, and have fun
Exact locations and schedule will be shared by staff. The season runs through mid-November.
