Special Olympics NC - Golf Coach - Alamance County

About the role

Special Olympics of Alamance County is seeking passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable volunteers to serve as golf coaches for local Special Olympics athletes.

Responsibilities

• Help local athletes learn and improve their golfing skills through game knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude.
• Meaningfully enrich the lives of athletes by building physical and social skills and instilling self-confidence.
• Lead weekly practices at a local golf course, focusing on putting, chipping, driving, course etiquette, and basic golf fundamentals.
• Participate in the Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC) Fall Tournament in the Charlotte region if interested.
• Provide coaching without requiring extensive prior experience; training will be provided.

Requirements

All coaches must be at least 18 years old to be certified.

• Knowledgeable about golf.

Skills

• Passion for working with intellectually disabled individuals.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
• Ability to commit to monthly practice sessions.
