Special Olympics NC: Assistant Gymnastics Coach - Buncombe County

About the role

Volunteer-driven, non-profit organization Special Olympics is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable volunteer to join as an assistant gymnastics coach for local Buncombe County athletes. You will help athletes learn and improve their gymnastics skills by bringing competition knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment, and a positive attitude to each practice, event, and competition. This role enriches the lives of athletes by building physical and social skills and instilling self-confidence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching local Special Olympics athletes in gymnastics.
• Bring competition knowledge, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to practices, events, and competitions.
• Help athletes develop gymnastics skills, physical abilities, social skills, and self-confidence.
• Opportunity to travel and participate in the SONC Fall Tournament in the Charlotte region (if interested).

Requirements

• Knowledge of gymnastics (no formal coaching experience required).
• Must be at least 18 years old to be a certified coach.
• Willingness to volunteer a few hours each month.

Schedule

Saturdays, September 12th – November 7th, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at Hahn’s Gymnastics.
