Special Event/Moving Specialist II (ETS) | Temporary

About the role

Responsible for collecting, loading, and transporting office furniture, laboratory equipment, and special event items including but not limited to stages, tables, lecterns, chairs, and event information. This position supports the Crew Leader and will fill the role of the Crew Leader if absent. Lifts and moves equipment that may weigh over 100 pounds.

Sorts and handles materials to ensure all items are repurposed through Surplus Properties or properly recycled, adhering to Emory University's sustainability goals for waste minimization. Assures superior customer service to both external and internal customers through accurate and timely follow-through on inquiries.

Communicates with crew leader and supervisor to ensure work orders are processed on time and labor is completed. Supports departmental needs by being a team player and adapting to work order and schedule adjustments. May operate trucks and forklifts and ensures proper safeguarding of tools and moving equipment. Assists in facility and vehicle maintenance, maintaining a clean, safe work environment in compliance with university, federal, state, and local standards.

Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of related experience.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds.
• Basic knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.

This is an in-person position at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option.
