Responsibilities
- Demonstrate digital functionality with clients and influence them and their employees to adopt self-serve capabilities to answer standard case level needs.
- Independently and effectively handle complex status & questions on individual claims and leaves from clients or the field through effective action plan development and timely execution.
- Ensure escalation of issues and partnership with appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Proactively identify trends and report issues impacting claims and leaves. Build strong relationships with operations leaders to make them aware of those issues and help them solve problems.
- Exhibit expertise in Total Leave digital ecosystem, keeping up to date with all new solutions.
- Through knowledge of client level needs, foster continuous improvement by providing insight on how the digital capabilities work for the client.
- Provide subject matter expertise in educating clients on the products serviced within Total Leave, leave workflows/regulations.
- Demonstrate understanding of applicable systems, standard operating procedures (SOP's), intake and eligibility procedures and product knowledge.
- Support and mentor peers and new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficient in Solutions and Unum product portfolio.
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience recommended.
- Strong technical claims/leave experience.
- Proven customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency in STD and FMLA, ability to quickly upskill on ADA and PFL as needed.
- Resolve conflicts in an open and positive manner.
- Build understanding, acceptance, and commitment through the change process.
- Ability to take appropriate actions based on key business indicators/trends.
- Demonstrated influencing, collaboration, and client relationship management experience.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $63,500.00 - $120,000.00. Actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location, and experience. Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive, including healthcare benefits, insurance benefits, performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
