About the role

The College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) is seeking a Social Media Specialist to manage the college’s social media accounts and create digital assets that enhance the college’s brand. This role supports student enrollment and retention, public awareness of research and scholarship, and faculty/staff recruitment through social media campaigns and content creation.

  • Manage and create compelling, action-oriented digital content (videos/reels, graphics, etc.) for social media and emerging channels
  • Analyze performance metrics and report on content effectiveness
  • Consult with HHS schools and programs on social media best practices
  • Lead design and creation of print and digital assets
  • Build and maintain an asset library of photos and videos/reels for digital and print use
  • Ensure all creative outputs meet brand standards and are effectively distributed
  • Collaborate with team members to support marketing initiatives

This is a part-time, benefits-eligible position requiring approximately 20 hours per week.

Worksite

This position is on-site. All employees must reside in the United States at the start of employment. Remote or hybrid work is not available for residents of Idaho.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Four years of relevant experience (may combine work experience and education)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field
  • One to three years of experience with photography, videography, and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Expertise in social media platforms and trends, with experience managing organizational accounts
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative vision to translate ideas into compelling visual content

Sponsorship Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Pay

$21.15 - $23.07 per hour
