Responsibilities
- Aid MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Aid in developing scopes of work for review and approval by MEP Project Manager.
- Aid in developing MEP project schedule within the overall construction schedule.
- Prepare estimates for MEP self-performed work and assist in completing project estimates.
- Assist in trade coordination and management throughout the build process.
- Select qualified bidders and negotiate final prices.
- Prepare and review various reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Review and coordinate all drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., and maintain a current set.
- Aid in pricing work, drafting changes and change orders for review by MEP Project Manager.
- Affirm customer satisfaction with the project.
- Schedule work, including subcontractors, and ensure productivity and quantity tracking.
- Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed, secure supply sources, and set up and close out construction sites.
- Act as on-site Safety Officer when not specifically assigned.
- Participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.
- Manage procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to align with work schedules.
- Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to high safety and quality standards in accordance with company, industry standards, and job specifications.
- Generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
- Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience, or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
- Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
- Strong people management skills.
- Basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and smartphones.
- Knowledge of MS project and other scheduling software is a plus.
- The ability to think independently and manage without constant direction.
- The ability to live anywhere in the USA and travel to project sites according to Gray’s travel policy.
