Responsibilities

  • Aid MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Aid in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
  • Aid in developing MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
  • Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
  • Assist in coordination/management of all trades throughout the build process.
  • Aid in selection of qualified bidders and negotiation of final prices.
  • Aid in the preparation of various reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
  • Review all drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
  • Aid in pricing work, drafting changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
  • Aid in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
  • Schedule work, including subcontractors.
  • Aid in productivity and quantity tracking of subcontractors' installed work.
  • Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed.
  • Secure appropriate supply sources.
  • Set up and close out construction site.
  • Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
  • Participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.
  • Procure tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
  • Consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force.
  • Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager.
  • Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance to company, industry standards, and job specifications.
  • Ensure the company QMS program is used and maintained in accordance to company standards.
  • Generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
  • MS project and other scheduling software a plus.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
  • Must possess the ability to think for him/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.
