Responsibilities
- Aid MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
- Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
- Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
- Assist in coordination/management of all trades throughout build process.
- Aid in the selection of qualified bidders and negotiation of final prices.
- Aid in the preparation of various reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Review all drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., when issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
- Aid in pricing work, drafting changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
- Aid in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
- Schedule work, including subcontractors.
- Aid in the productivity and quantity tracking of the subcontractors' installed work.
- Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed.
- Secure appropriate supply sources.
- Set up and close out construction site.
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
- Participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program.
- Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
- Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force.
- Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager.
- Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance to company, industry standards, and job specifications.
- Ensure the company QMS program is used and maintained in accordance to company standards.
- Generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement.
- Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
- Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
- Strong people management skills.
- Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
- MS project and other scheduling software a plus.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
- Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.
