About the role
The Showroom Salesperson at PARR is responsible for taking care of both in-person and over-the-phone customers, creating designs, estimates, and assisting with product selection. This role is integral to providing Legendary Service to customers and supports the Parr Design Centers.
Responsibilities
- Takes care of both in-person and over-the-phone customers
- Create purchase orders using detailed, accurate, and effective processes
- Utilize manufacturers' design and quoting software for customer approval and purchasing needs
- Arrange delivery of product, ensuring customer-friendly outcomes
- Work closely with Parr’s installation team to ensure great customer outcomes
- Hit personal sales and profit goals, supporting the team to maximize location and category goals
- Check vendor acknowledgments to validate accuracy
- Make customers feel genuinely welcome, greeting them with a smile and communicating in a friendly manner
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and business associates
- Quickly respond to customer complaints and concerns, keeping leadership informed
- Answer customers' questions, process estimates and orders, order stock, special order products, process credit returns, assist in coordinating warranties and replacements when necessary
- Aid Contractor Sales people in maintaining customer relationships
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product brands and selling techniques, sharing such information with co-workers
- Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy
- Follow all AR account and cash handling procedures
- Read blueprints and create take-offs
- Answer phone promptly with a professional greeting
- Complete POS on time, confirm confirmation, and tie to order
- Respond to emails and voicemails promptly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with cabinet/appliances or windows
- Knowledge of retail and contractor sales principles, practices, and protocols
- Experience in balancing a company's best interests against customer needs and working with aggressive sales goals
- Ability to type 40+ WPM
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to operate personal computer, telephone, scanner, and other necessary equipment
- Class C driver’s license and good driving record required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or in the building materials industry preferred
- Interpersonal Skills: cordial, professional, diplomatic, and with a high level of customer service
- Ability to change processes, tools, and procedures to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers
- Strong focus, planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence
- Ability to adapt quickly to constantly changing circumstances
- Ability to appropriately manage stress and interact with others

Working Conditions
- Works out of Parr’s Design Center
- Office/warehouse setting, with occasional visits to a job site, vendor locations, and manufacturing tours
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and carrying objects 50 feet
